BackPack Food Program – Mankato, MN

Mankato, MN Area BackPack Food Program

Feeding Our Community Partners (FOCP) is on a mission to tackle hunger in the local Mankato, MN community. The organizations BackPack Food Program is an expanding nonprofit program that serves over 900 food insecure children in our local area. The program addresses hunger gaps in elementary and middle school youth through the Mankato area school system.

Spring Touch Lawn & Pest Control joined the team as volunteers on Monday February 5th, 2018 packing about 200 backpacks of food for school children in the local community. Spring Touch has also pledged to donate a backpack to the program every time a customer leaves us a review. It's a nice way that our customers can support our community and they have been tremendously supportive.

Feeding Our Community Partners Backpack Food Program

The goal of the Backpack Food Program is to make sure that food insecure children that rely on school-lunches for meals have adequate food over weekends and longer breaks. The program welcomes volunteer support and donations to their menu of nonperishable food items. The organization recently raised over $101,000 at their Climb 2 Feed Kids event at Bresnan Arena – about half of their annual food budget for 2018. The Climb 2 Feed Kids was one of three annual fundraising events that FOCP organizes each year. There is also a Beer, Brats and Bourbon event hosted on June 14th, and a Winter Break Feed and Read event on December 19th and 20th.
